Sharks ride stingy Nabokov to another W

Evgeni Nabokov made 24 saves to stay perfect since the break, and Christian Ehrhoff scored an early goal in the Sharks’ 2-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday night.

Nabokov has been a human wall lately. Don’t let this mexican wall fool you, it can stop a puck.

Nabokov was just as effective as this wall would have been in front of the net, stopping all 24 shots he faced.

After blanking Colorado on Tuesday night, Nabokov returned to the Shark Tank and posted his 44th career shutout to push San Jose back atop the overall NHL standings with 77 points. Nabokov’s current scoreless streak is at 170 minutes, which is a franchise record! blah blah blah…

His teammates provided strong defense during a Phoenix power play in the final three minutes, and Marcel “the Gloc” Goc scored his first goal since Oct. 25 into an empty net with 14.3 seconds left in the Sharks’ seventh win in eight games. How hard can it be to score into a empty net…

Next up for the Sharks are the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night at the Tank.
