The Dirty Warrior

Goodbye Anthony Randolph, hello Dirty Warrior. We’ve seen impoved play by the rookie forward for the better part of the past few weeks, yet we’ve never seen him put all his qualities on display in one single game. Well, I think last night we got a pretty good glimpse of the total package, which was filthy. Randolph simply kept the Warriors in the game for stretches at a time. His energy, shot blocking and finishing around the rim is really impressive.
There is one thing that is a little concerning however… it seems to me that even though he is a quick jumper (a la lot of blocks), on the offense of zone it doesn’t look like he has much lift? Even his dunks, it doesn’t look like he is really getting up that high. I know a couple games ago we saw him on the break away take off for a dunk and he ended up being like 2 feet short because he had no lift. Maybe he’s tired? Who knows, but hopefully as he gets stronger his jumping gets a little more consistent. A 6′11″ athlete like himself should be skying above the others.
Anyways, the dubs lost, which is fine, I’m more concerned with watching our young guys play anyways so we can access next year. I wish Brandon Wright was around, would love to watch him get a bunch of playing time. Maggette had a good game too, he is a dope 6 man. 6 man of year next season.
Warriors season in free fall

Yes the season has been over for sometime now, but the energy and excitement that Monta Ellis brought back had really made the season enjoyable again. Now that he is shelved again, plus a pathetically gay loss to the Clippers and now a loss at home to the Bobcats… The dubs are officially back to their free fall they started earlier this season.
Don Nelson gave Jamal Crawford the night off in an attempt to give Cj, Morrow and Belinelli more playing time. This didn’t work out really well, as all 3 of those guys didn’t do a damn thing. Sunday vs. the Jazz Nelson plans on sitting Stephen Jackson, next week its Andris and sometime soon Maggette will be getting his night off.
Well, with the loss, the Warriors get a little closer to trying to get the number 1 pick. The chance of getting it is very slim and even if the Warriors somehow did end up with the worst record, its almost a guarantee they wouldn’t get it either so… yeah. Looking ahead at the draft, the only guy I could really see us wanting is Blake Griffen. Besides him, I don’t think there are many impact players that could come to the dubs and make a difference.
Warriors get down and dirty with Utah

The dubs were filthy tonight. Playing without Andris Biedrins and going against the Utah Jazz, one would have expected the warriors to get man handled like a young college boy in prision. This however, did not happen. It was the Warriors making all the moves tonight, forcing turnovers and getting out into the open court on their way to a spanking of the Utah Jazz.
It is always nice not to lose to the Jazz. Their state, their religion and their teams are pretty much disliked by everyone not living there. The Dubs had big games from Maggette and Capt. Jacko and some solid contributions from just about everyone else. Deron Williams got his, but it wasn’t super pretty, he turned the ball over too much and wasn’t able to control the game.
I sure do like Maggette coming off the bench, he is a pretty pimp guy to have as your 6th man. Its going to be fun to see this team get healthy and play together. It looks like its going to be another typical Warrior year, I’m sure we’ll peak down the stretch, play some good basketball and get all the fans fired up for next year.
Warriors beat the shitty Clips

After 3 straight shitty defeats, the Warriors finally got to play someone even worse than they are… the Clippers. Now, the Clippers are missing Baron Davis, Marcus Campy, The German Polar Bear, and Zach ‘I Smoke Crack’ Randolph. Needless to say, if we lose to the clippers minus all of these guys, we are fucking terrible. They had only 8 guys at the game, it was nuts, their bench was literally empty.
This was Monta’s second game of the season and it didn’t look as good as his one vs the Cavs. He did hit a 3 and have a nice finish at the basket in the first few minutes of the game, but besides that, he didn’t do much. He can’t play defense at all. It’s almost funny watching people like Jason Hart go right around him. I know he has only played in 2 games and trust me, I’m pretty fucking fired up he is back, but over this next off-season he needs to learn how to play defense and stay healthy.
Maggette came off the bench last night, again, and I do like that. I never thought in a million years Nelson would actually bring him off the bench (despite thinking he should when we signed him) just because he makes 10 mil a year and probably wants to play a lot, however, it has worked out nicely, I like having him come in off the bench, he is kinda a stud out there going against reserves and what not. He usually can get a better match up and just dominate.
So the dubs wrapped up their homestand with a nice solid blow-out win over the Clippers. The Warriors finished 4-3 on the homestand, losing to the Cavs by 1, the Thunder by 2, and the Kings by 2. It easily could have been a 7-0 homestand, but oh well.
Warriors playing the Mavs on Thursday, on ESPN. Should be a great game, too bad it won’t have the same feeling as last year or the year before.
