Warriors season in free fall

February 28, 2009 by Slicker · Leave a Comment

Yes the season has been over for sometime now, but the energy and excitement that Monta Ellis brought back had really made the season enjoyable again. Now that he is shelved again, plus a pathetically gay loss to the Clippers and now a loss at home to the Bobcats… The dubs are officially back to their free fall they started earlier this season.

Don Nelson gave Jamal Crawford the night off in an attempt to give Cj, Morrow and Belinelli more playing time. This didn’t work out really well, as all 3 of those guys didn’t do a damn thing. Sunday vs. the Jazz Nelson plans on sitting Stephen Jackson, next week its Andris and sometime soon Maggette will be getting his night off.

Well, with the loss, the Warriors get a little closer to trying to get the number 1 pick. The chance of getting it is very slim and even if the Warriors somehow did end up with the worst record, its almost a guarantee they wouldn’t get it either so… yeah. Looking ahead at the draft, the only guy I could really see us wanting is Blake Griffen. Besides him, I don’t think there are many impact players that could come to the dubs and make a difference.

Warriors get down and dirty with Utah

The dubs were filthy tonight. Playing without Andris Biedrins and going against the Utah Jazz, one would have expected the warriors to get man handled like a young college boy in prision. This however, did not happen. It was the Warriors making all the moves tonight, forcing turnovers and getting out into the open court on their way to a spanking of the Utah Jazz.

It is always nice not to lose to the Jazz. Their state, their religion and their teams are pretty much disliked by everyone not living there. The Dubs had big games from Maggette and Capt. Jacko and some solid contributions from just about everyone else. Deron Williams got his, but it wasn’t super pretty, he turned the ball over too much and wasn’t able to control the game.

I sure do like Maggette coming off the bench, he is a pretty pimp guy to have as your 6th man. Its going to be fun to see this team get healthy and play together. It looks like its going to be another typical Warrior year, I’m sure we’ll peak down the stretch, play some good basketball and get all the fans fired up for next year.

We’re going to need a bigger truck

Is it me or are we cursed? What is with the injuries? Seriously if it was Maggette it wouldn’t be very shocking, but Andris? Our iron man?

The Latvian lover went down tonight with what looked like a good little ankle sprain. From the camera view, which wasn’t great, it didn’t look all that bad, but again, it was tough to see. X-rays were negative, which was good, but chances are he will be sitting in the hot tub the next few days along side Brandon Wright and Marco Belinelli who are also both out.

So, that alone pretty much made tonight a failure, win or lose, this is a loss. Well, it doesn’t really matter because we loss the game too. It was close, the Warriors trailed by 2 with only a few minutes left, but the hoser piece of shit ref’s were trying to cover the spread. Thus, they called everything against the dubs at the end and let the suns take it. Then just to line their pockets even more, they kept calling terrible calls to let the suns get a few extra points.

Its a sad night tonight… everyone please take a moment in silence to remember a wholesome friend, a Latvian 1-man army, a hero to some, a lover to others, our one and only… Andris Biedrins. Get well soon little guy.

Warriors Waive Kosta Perovic

The Warriors cut ties with the Serbian Kosta Perovic last week. When Kosta was drafted the espn analysts were saying he had a chance to be the next Z… which obviously never happened. Not sure how many minutes Kosta even logged with the dubs, but it doesn’t really matter, he was not part of the future, especially now that Beidrins is locked in long-term and super sub Ronnie Turiaf can fill in the backup center position.

Kosta will likely be heading back overseas where he will probably be the man. I’m sure he will rack in good money, live in a mansion and live much more comfortably than 95% of Americans. Thanks for nothing Kosta! You big fat flop.
