Manny Busted! Doyer gets 50 game suspension for banned substance!

MLB announced that Manny Ramirez tested positive for a banned substance and will be suspended for 50 games. The suspension will start today and will run through early July. The suspension will cost Ramirez $7.5 million in salary. More importantly for the Giants, the suspension is a huge hit to the offense of the Doyers. This announcement is GREAT news for the Giants! Hopefully when Manny returns, he gets hurt.

Lincecum slays Cubs, Giants split series in Chicago

Tim Lincecum pitched 7 innings and the Giants offense actually scored a few runs as the Giants beat the Cubs 6-2 to earn a split of this very short 2 game series. Lincecum pitched 7 strong innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 7.

Big Money Molina supported Lincecum right off the bat with a 3 run shot in the 1st inning.  Aaron Rowand had a 2 run double and Randy Winn had 2 hits, including an rbi single, but don’t get used to the offense. I’m sure the Giants will score a total of 3 runs in their next 2 games in Colorado.

Giants piss all over Rockies, win series in extra innings

The Giants won their 5th consective series at home, something they have never done, by beating the Rockies 1-0 in 10 innings behind Barry Zito’s 3rd consecutive excellent start. Zito pitched 7 shutout innings and only gave up 2 hits. Unfortunately, the Giants offense was pathetic and wasn’t able to squeeze out a run until the 10th inning thanks to Rich Aurillia’s single to plate Steve Holm.

The Giants are playing solid baseball right now and the starting pitching, as expected, is the reason. Unfortunately the doyers keep winning so we are still 4.5 games out of first. The Giants hit the road for a 3 game road trip (Chicago, Colorado and LA) now.
