The Raiders announced that they will be retaining Tom Cable as the head coach. There was speculation last week that this would be announced soon and it finally has. Cable, who has been in Hawaii with his girlfriend was very pleased with the news. Besides Cable, I’m pretty sure no one else is very thrilled. The only reason the kept Mr. Tom Cable wasn’t because he is a pimp ass coach, or because he is 300lb+, I think its more likely because no one else in their right mind would want to coach the Raiders and work for Al Davis. Thus, Cable was his only choice and only one dumb enough to take the job.
Last year Cable got off to a rough start. After taking over the helm of the team the Raiders looked even worse than they were before. However, as the season went on they actually had a couple of wins that were almost impressive. Not that they won a lot, finishing the year 5-11 but they did beat the Buc’s on the last game of the season to deny them from making the playoffs, which was pretty cool.
