A’s Hypnotic in loss - Put fans to sleep
August 20, 2008 by Slicker
The A’s were setting new standards in Minnesota today, where they actually put some fans to sleep. What once thought could only be achieved by licensed psychiatrists and WWE wrestlers can actually be done by the A’s as well, go figure! The A’s lost 3 -1 behind a pretty good start by Dallas Braden, but that monstrous A’s lineup wasn’t able to produce much juice. They scored 1 unearned run in the top half of the first then failed to score for the rest of the game.
Today tallied the 11th consecutive series of which the A’s have lost. This my friends… is an impressive stat. I’m pretty sure if the A’s keep their game faces on there are several records they could break during the 2nd half … like most consecutive series losses, worst 2nd half baseball record, and fewest 2nd half runs scored to name a few.
Anyways, Oakland is 12 games under .500 and open up a 4 game home series against the Mariners. This will really be a good skill check for our squad. If we lose this series at home vs. the shitty Mariners I will throw myself in front of a bus. Now is as good a chance as ever for the A’s to turn this 2nd half around, maybe score some runs, feel what its like to win a little and get some real experiences under these young guys’ belts.
