Giants complete worst month of the season so far with another punchless performance

July 31, 2008 by Doyers Suck

Well, after playing better than expected the first couple months of the season, the Giants are showing us why all of the “experts” picked the Giants to lose over 100 games. The Giants completed an 8-16 July by getting shutout by the doyers for the second straight night, 4-0. The Giants are now a season-high 19 games under .500 and haven’t hit a home run in 8 games! They are hitting .224 over their last 29 games and just flat out suck. I’ve seen more runs at a Taco Bell. I’ve seen more scoring at an 8th grade dance.

The doyers scored their 4 runs early thanks to a pair of rbi singles from Russell Martin and an rbi double by 84 year-old Jeff Kent. I hate Kent.

84 year old Jeff Kent doubled in a run and scored to help the doyers.

We’re getting shut down too frequently,” Bochy said, stating the obvious after the doyers right-hander Chad Billingsley pitched a five-hitter for his first career shutout.

Speculation increased that the Giants are considering trading catcher Bengie Molina to Florida for first baseman Mike Jacobs, although the Marlins reportedly could be busy with a three-way deal involving Boston and Pittsburgh that would bring them Red Sox slugger and asshole Manny Ramirez.

Asked if all members of the 25-man roster would make the trip to San Diego for the Giants’ next series, Bochy responded affirmatively.

One Giant with much to ponder during the short bus ride was Dirty Sanchez (8-7), who didn’t last more than 5 1/3 innings in any of his July starts. He worked just four innings against the doyers, who scored a run in the first inning and three more in the third.

Sanchez continued to insist that he’s not fatigued, although his 123 innings are 2 2/3 short of his professional career high.

“I didn’t have it today, but I’m not tired,” he said.

Bochy was more concerned with Sanchez’s poor control. Of the four doyers Sanchez walked, three of them scored.

“The walks killed him today,” Bochy said, once again stating the obvious.

Master of the obvious, Bruce Bochy.
