A’s looking to rebound

July 26, 2008 by Slicker

A’s Pounded The Oakland Athletics were pounded last night 14-6 by the visiting Texas Rangers. Sean Gallagher was spotted a 5 run lead and fricken blew it. The young pitcher acquired from the Cubbies in the Harden deal did not look good in his 2nd A’s start.

Texas Rangers' Josh Hamilton, right, is congratulated by Jarrod Saltalamacchia (25) after Hamilton's two-run home run against the Oakland Athletics in the fourth inning of a baseball game Friday, July 25, 2008, in Oakland, Calif.

I liked Josh Hamilton, right, a lot more when he was strung out.

Today, the A’s look to bounce back, with All-Star Justin Duchscherer (10-6, 1.87) on the mound. Duch hasn’t given up more than 2 earned runs since May 18th, but he faces a tough hitting Rangers Lineup, led by superstar Josh Hamilton.

The A’s have been as cold as could be, with a flurry of transactions over the last couple of weeks and more likely to come, with Street and Embree available, its been a time of transition which is beginning to takes its toll.
